Growing together in the grace of Christ
Thank you for considering how I might serve your church or ministry. I love opening God’s Word with his people and exploring how the grace of Jesus meets us in the joys, struggles, and relationships of everyday life.
I preach, teach, and train on caring for the hurting, marriage and family, church hurt, and responding wisely to abuse, and I help churches build and strengthen counseling ministries.
Timothy St. John, MDiv, ThM
Counseling pastor at Lighthouse Community Church in Torrance, California, and author of After Church Hurt and Uncovering Domestic Abuse. Through counseling, teaching, and training, he helps churches grow in gospel-centered care. He serves on the Biblical Counseling Coalition council board and the SOLA Network editorial board.
Topics I’ve taught on
A sampling of messages and trainings I’ve brought to churches, not a complete list. Each can be shaped for your people, and if you have another theme in mind, I’d be glad to talk about it.

Can we ask for a topic that isn’t listed?
Yes. Tell me about your church and the theme you have in mind. I’ll let you know whether I have material that could serve you and what preparation would be possible.
Can we plan a retreat or a series of messages?
Absolutely. We can choose messages that belong together and leave room for conversation, prayer, and practical application.
Do you offer online teaching?
Online and in-person gatherings are both possible, depending on availability and the needs of your group.
What if our budget is limited?
Please reach out. I do not want cost to prevent a conversation about serving your church. Share what is workable, and we can consider the possibilities together. Suggested ranges are beside the honorarium question in the request form.
May we record or livestream the teaching?
Please include that request when you reach out. We’ll discuss permission and how the recording may be shared, including whether any discussion should remain private.
Can we receive a bio, photo, or information about books?
Yes. Once the event is confirmed, we can coordinate a speaker bio, photo, and any book or publicity needs.
Are these forms for personal counseling?
These forms are for speaking invitations and church or ministry consultation. Please do not include personal counseling histories or confidential information.
